A Question : What does the kid's answer mean?

Rainy Days

A newcomer to Seattle arrives on a rainy day.  She gets up the next day and it's raining.  It also rains the day after that, and the day after that.  She goes out to lunch and sees a young kid.  Out of despair she asks, "Hey, kid, does it ever stop raining around here?"  The kid says, "How should I know?  I'm only 6."

1. From the kid's answer, it seems as though(彷彿=as if) it has rained every day for the past six years.

2. Or the kid is too young to understand her question.

- out of despair 出於絕望而做某事

相同用法, 如下:

- out of security 出於安全考量

Out of security she decided to get/be home before dark. 出於安全考量, 她決定在天黑前回到家.

- out of curiosity 出於好奇

A : How could you open my letter?

B : I'm sorry. I just took a quick peek/peep at it out of curiosity. 抱歉. 我只是出於好奇匆匆地偷瞄了一眼.
