Mother’s Day is on the second Sunday of May. It’s a day to honor our mothers and make them feel extra special. It’s also a good time for family members to gather together, especially after we get married or work in other places. It’s common for adult children cook for their mums or take them out to lunch or dinner. Young children put a lot of effort into making cards and plastic flowers for their moms.
Mother’s Day is coming. If you have the ideas to celebrate it, we have some questions for you as follows:
1. Have you prepared any presents for Mother’s Day? Or what have you received?
2. Have you made a reservation in the restaurant on that day/during that weekend? Or you prefer a big meal at home?
3. Do you have any other plans for celebrating it?
4. Did you also celebrate Father’s Day? And how?
5. Anyway, please say “Happy Mother’s Day!!” to your great moms.
Interviewer: Thank you for agreeing to come in and meet with us today.
Interviewee: Thanks for your inviting me.
Interviewer: I can see from your resume (C.V.) that you were in charge of sales for the ABC Corporation from 2012 to 2014. Can you please tell me about your responsibilities?
Interviewee: Yes. I was in charge of profit and loss for the northwest region of America. As a manager, I was directly responsible for a 50% increase in sales over a four-month period.
Interviewer: What do you believe are some of the key attributes that helped you to achieve such an outstanding increase in sales?
Interviewee: I believe persistence and perseverance are key attributes.
Interviewer: Sounds good. Everyone is talking about teams these days. Can you describe your role as a member of a sales team?
Interviewee: I see myself chiefly as an inspirer. Sales can be quite competitive and some people in this field adopt a dog-eat-dog mentality. However, as a leader, I charge myself with making all units within a company function as one single entity. To cite an example, in my last job, each representative handled a different region. Instead of allowing successful initiatives to be hoarded by certain representatives, I developed a system for sharing those successful sales initiatives. Soon the entire sales team started talking of their successes, not just to brag, but also to share.
Interviewer: We establish a fairly high target sales quota and you must achieve this volume in a short amount of time. How can you ensure that we reach our sales goals?
Interviewee: I will draft a day-to-day schedule in advance and stick to the plan. Having a plan is the guarantor of success.
Interviewer: I must admit that you are very impressive (or I am quite impressed). I’ve certainly enjoyed meeting you. Our HR department will contact you later.
Interviewee: Thank you very much. I'll be looking forward to hearing from you. Good-bye.
Interviewer: Can you tell me a little bit about yourself?
Interviewee: I am a graduate of a technical university and have been employed as an engineer with the ABC Company for approximately 10 years.
Interviewer: Please explain why you are interested in leaving your current position and please elaborate on your technical skills.
Interviewee: I am looking for a growth opportunity, which I feel is not available at my current employer. In terms of skills, I am Microsoft certified in Windows XP and several other operating systems.
Interviewer: Where do you see yourself five years from now?
Interviewee: I see myself in a management position.
Bob worked as a manager in the furniture store. He made some advertising campaign for sales. But the business was still going down. The competition called Honest Ade’s furniture store cost an arm and a leg, that means everything there charged top dollar, but everyone still shopped there.
Peter is Bob’s boss. He broke the news to bob and told him his store was about to go belly-up. Peter’s new advertising campaign was a real flop. He decided to give Bob an ax. Bob tried to talk it over and explained he thought the campaign could work and saved a day and the competition gave him creeps. He felt they were very strange. He asked Peter to give him a chance to go back to the drawing board.
In the end of their conversation, Peter told Bob clearly that there was no point in arguing it and a new manager coming and she would be as sharp as tack and it has been decided to get Bob canned. Bob hoped Peter could consider that after all, Bob has been worked for ages. Finally, Bob knew Peter has made up his mind, so criticized that was a dead-end job. Peter nearly lost temper and asked Bob to leave his office as soon as possible.

This is first time that I send mail to you.(that 可以省略) Maybe I can write somethings(something) about(the reason) why I am eager to learn English. And I am happy in(in 不需要,副詞前不需介詞) here to meet a good English teacher. She has patiences(patience) to correct my English , especially in the(the 不需要) listening.
It will bring me many promotion opportunities if I have good English skills. And I already have some other strengths, like RD background, factory working experiences...etc. The road to the management level of company is very far(the possibility to work in the management position is low) if I have no this kind of abilities.(ability)
So I have to keep the passion in learning English and face my weakness. I think one day I can present very well in the(the去掉) speech (in the speech也没必要)in English.
(I think i can present in English very well one day.)
Now it is time to bed. to be continued
